Victoria & Matthew got married on April 15th and this truly was one the BEST weddings that I have worked. The weather was AMAZING and the Venue was even better.
The couple got married at Rock Springs Center in Greenville and let me just tell you…. this venue is a hidden gem! I actually helped Victoria plan this wedding and when we first starting our journey together, I told her to find the venue that had the most amenities and she did just that! Rock Springs Center sets up for the ceremony and reception, prepares and serves hors d’oeuvres and dinner, provides a bartender for alcohol, has a crew to help keep everything clean, and so much more! An old friend of mine is actually a manager there and I got the pleasure of working with her. It was such a good experience!
Matthew and Victoria had a smaller bridal party, which allowed their experience to be much more intimate. Victoria’s party consisted of 3 Bridesmaids and one Maid of Honor. Matthew’s party consisted of 3 Groomsmen and 1 Best Man. They also had the CUTEST Flower Girl and Ring Bearer. These two happened to be younger siblings of the Bride and Groom.
On the day of the wedding, I was able to arrive later in the afternoon, due to the venue doing so much. Once I got there, the photographers were busy at work, getting the best pictures of Victoria and her sweet mom. I had the pleasure of working with Abby Rogers and her second shooter, Kelsie Zeagler. They are some of my favorite photographers and they are actually best friends. So, typically if one of them is the lead photographer, I will see the other as a second!
Soon after my arrival, the cake was suppose to arrive. I got a phone call from the baker that she had an emergency come up and her HUSBAND was bringing the cake and cupcakes. He drove all the way from Goldsboro to Greenville for his wife’s second job.. He was amazing and the cake/cupcakes were even better. Angie (the baker) did mention that she was not able to put the flowers on the cake and was worried that we would be upset with her, but we handled it! Also, it was delicious and a fan favorite!
Approximately an hour before ceremony time, the Bride and Groom had their first look and PRIVATELY read vows to each other. This was a moment that I will never forget.
When 4pm arrived, it was time for the ceremony. There were definitely some nerves, but everyone was amazing! There were no mistakes and so many smiles. The entire ceremony was full of emotions and sweet gestures. However, this ceremony did strike me to add another task to my wedding routine… “Technology Free Ceremony”. Now, I always send the officiant down the aisle to start the ceremony and when she gets to the alter, she makes a KIND AND GENTLY announcement that the ceremony will be free of cellphones, cameras, etc. The announcement doesn’t 100% assure us that guests won’t still get their phones out, but it does decrease the quantity. This trick has helped me tremendously and it is always agreed upon with the Bride and Groom!
Fun Fact: Victoria’s Step Mother was the officiant and she was AMAZING! I had the pleasure of getting to know her over the year of planning and she is such a great person!
The ceremony lasted just at thirty minutes and then it was time for Cocktail Hour. While guests were mingling, grabbing a drink, and grazing fruit & cheeses, the couple was taking pictures with family.
For dinner, we had a variety of delicious food. We had Honey Rosemary Chicken and London Broil, White Cheddar Mac and Cheese, Creamed Mashed Potatoes, Salad and Rolls along with Sweet Tea, Unsweet Tea, Coffee, and Water. This was all prepared by the venue’s chef and it was amazing!
After dinner, it was time for Toasts and Speeches, as well as time for the PARTY TO START! We had such a good time! The speeches were great and everyone had their dancing shoes on. The couple enjoyed their night, but decided they were NOT night owls and did not wish to party all night… LOL my kind of people. Amazingly enough, we were out of the venue by 9:30! So, if you aren’t wishing to have a late night…. DON’T! There are no rules when it comes to planning your wedding!
