When I think of Makala and Ethan’s wedding, two words come to mind;
Makala and Ethan’s color scheme….. MAGICAL!!! I can only wish I had an eye for these types of schemes. There was Hot Pink, Light Pink, Blue, and so many more Spring colors. While her ceremony and reception sites were beautiful, her bouquet is what I was most obsessed with. Her bouquet was consumed with all of the beautiful colors as well as the elegant wrap and a sentimental charm.
Above, I mentioned that one word I think of when it comes to this wedding is “Organized”. Makala had all of the tedious, time details and documents taken care of. Weeks prior, she emailed me their Ceremony Sermon as well as an online copy of their program. This was a HUGE help for me as I don’t always get prior access to these items. I always take the Photographer’s Day Of Timeline and create my Master Timeline, but these documents always make that job a little easier! (See the picture below of their Programs. They were simple, but classy)
For the morning of their wedding day, I arrived at 10am. I give my couples up to 12 hours and they can choose my arrival and departure times. (That put me at leaving around 10pm.) When I arrived, my first stop was to check on the Bride and her party to ensure everything was going as planned, which they were! I then set out to the ceremony site to check on the flowers and decorations. The flowers had been placed and the only thing for me to do was to get their Unity Knot in place, which I would do a few hours later. (Fun Fact: The stand they had would not hold the Knot and I had to DIY a table. It worked and was one of my favorite touches)
I then worked to set up the reception site with chargers, napkins, and silverware. The couple’s family had pre-tied the the napkins and placed them in boxes, so all I had to do was place them. (I’m telling you…. they had it together!!)
**Typically at this point in my blog, I would walk you through my day and explain every detail, but I am going to switch it up. Below, I am going to list the timeline of which the day consisted. If any details are needed, I will add them. As well as pictures!**
12:30pm – Photographer Arrives and begin Detail Photos (Tip: Put all of the bride’s details in a box, the Grooms Details in a box, and then the wedding details in a third box. This helps the photographer tremendously and is a time saver!)
1:30pm – Groom and his men arrive to begin getting dressed for photos at 3pm.
Also at 1:30, the Photographer was taking photos of the Dress, the Bride’s girls getting ready, hair and makeup, and Pajama shots.
2:30 – Bride and her girls get dressed
2:55 – Reveal with bridesmaids
3:00 – Groomsmen start getting ready
Also at 3:00 – First Look with dad (This was one of my favorite moments! Makala was the first to get placed and then we would have her dad be guided by me, with his eyes shut, facing the opposite direction. As I was getting him placed, I told him “Okay, we are almost ready, but don’t turn around yet!” As soon as this left my mouth, he turned around…. Lol, but it was such a fun moment!
Also at 3 – Caterer Arrive and begins to prep food
3:15 – Groomsmen getting ready photos (A few minutes prior, I was putting their Boutonnières on and experienced my very first time with a huge party of Groomsmen and only myself to place boutonnieres. It was very stressful, but it went by fairly easy.
3:30 Bridesmaids Photos
4:00 Groomsmen Photo
Also at 4 – The DJ arrives and sets up in Reception and Ceremony locations.
4:30 – Ceremony + Reception Detail Photos for Photographer
Also at 4:30 – Officiant Arrives
5 – The DJ begins to plan music at the Ceremony location
5:30 Ceremony
6:00 Family Formals
Also at 6 – The Cake is Dropped off
6:30 – Bridal Party
6:45 – Bride and Groom Photos
7:00 – Guests may enter the Reception from Cocktail Hour, which was outside
7:15 – Grand Entrance to the Reception
7:20 – Bride and Groom First Dance
7:25 – Bride and Father Dance
7:30 – Groom and Mother Dance
7:35 – Dinner Begins
8:30 – Cut the Cake – I LOVED this cake and it was placed on a gorgeous Cake Stand
