My Introduction to Wedding Photography

A few months ago, I was questioned about being a possible second shooter / assistant for a wedding. At first, I was very hesitant for multiple reasons…

1. I typically run the wedding… not assist other vendors.
2. I am fairly new to photography.
3. It was a holiday weekend! (Memorial Day Weekend)

However, after a lot of thinking of pros and cons, I decided to assist and HERE WE ARE! This is my official announcement that I will now be taking on the role as Second Shooter OR Main Shooter for any photographer / bride in need.

How I Opperate:

Main Photographer – To begin with, there is a deposit and contract that will need to be completed and paid. Next, I will need to know if you are you in the market for a package (including, but not limited to; engagement, bridals, rehearsal dinner, and ceremony. If so, I will give you the price for the package upon request. You are not required to be in need of all of these sessions. You can customize the package as needed! If you are only in the market for ceremony images, I have a separate price for that!

**If you did not know, I have been a wedding planner / coordinator for going on three years, so I know how weddings work and I am very familiar with Day of Timelines. As your photographer, you and I (and your planner if applicable) will work together to create your timeline that allows me to capture all of your special moments. Everything from details to your final exit!

Post Wedding – I take pride in getting images back quickly. However, with wedding photography, comes hundreds of images. Due to this, I try to break it into three different delivery dates.

1. 24 Hours Post Wedding – Three images for you to use on social media to show off your husband and wedding dress.
2. 7 Days Post Wedding – Sneak Peeks from the entire day.
3. 1 Month Post Wedding – All of your photos!

– You will receive all images via Pixie Set!

Second Shooter – First off, you decide how many hours you need me for, but the amount of hours depends on the price!

– I charge hourly and I do charge for travel.

– Post Wedding – At the moment, I shoot a DSLR camera that does not have dual card slot, so I will download the images to my laptop (this does not take me long) and then give you the memory card. I do base my price on the fact that I give you a memory card, so no need to worry about returning the card. It is okay!

– I do shoot a Nikon camera, so please keep that in mind if it will mess with your computer when downloading. I am still very new to this and am learning about shooting with Nikon and Canon.

– As for posting, I ALWAYS wait for the main shooter to post sneak peeks AND for the bride to post her images. I do ask that I am allowed to edit my images and post as desired.

Please keep in mind that during this wedding, I was the second shooter. That means the main photographer gets dibs on the best angle. My shots or solely incase she misses something or if I get the “second best angle”!

As the second shooter, I promise to always get working shots for you to use for social media! This is very important for me because I too know how hard it is to get images while working, but it would making posting to social media so much more personable!
