I’ve got to admit it, this week has NOT been very educational and exciting around the Sholar house. I have been cleaning out the house, organizing clutter, and trashing what we don’t use. Of course, it hasn’t been totally boring. We celebrated my brother and sister’s birthday, played outside, visited our farm animals, went to visit the boys’ fav people (a.k.a grandparents) and played with their toys.
BUT…. none of that is BlOG worthy… so I thought this would be the perfect time to tell you some of my ‘must haves’ as a mom, wife, teacher, photographer, wedding planner, and as a female 🙂
Postpartum Must Haves:
- The Peri Bottle. Seriously, I will never go through a postpartum experience without this. If you don’t know what it is… just click the link and you will know exactly what it is for 🙂 https://frida.com/products/upside-down-peri-bottle
- Diapers (for you, mama!) There is no shame in my game… I wore these for a month after my boys. They are amazing and so comfy after birth. Link is Here
- A few nice robes. I lived in them months after my births and even now, I wear my robe every night and morning! Here is one that I like! Link is Here
Newborn Must Haves:
- MAGNETIC ME SLEEPERS! Seriously, buy them all!!! They are so easy at night during those midnight feedings and changes! https://magneticme.com/collections/shop-all-baby
- Baby Wedge for the baby to lay on his/her side. This saved my life when my boys were infants and wanted to lay on their side. I also love this one because the shorter side is safe for the baby’s face. (Only used when I was awake!) Link is Here
- A Wipe Warmer. I know this is controversial and totally differs from person to person… but these were a must have for me. Imagine waking up at 2am to your baby being soaked, but still asleep. You have to change him/her, but do you want those cold wipes to wake them up? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Yes, the wipes lose their heat after a minute or two, but they worked for me.. Link is Here
- My Fave Bathtub Seat – These are SO EASY to use with babies!
Toddler Must Haves:
- A Toddler Tower. This will help so much when your toddler needs to brush their teeth, wash their hands, or just wants to see what you’re doing on the counter! Link is Here
- Toddler Backpacks! My boys of course use them at PreSchool, but they also love to pack them full of toys when going anywhere! Some Options are Here
- Colorful Stepping Stones – I currently have these at the top of the boys’ closet for easy access and use them for two different games. 1. “Floor is Lava.” Seriously, Dawson will come to me daily and say, “Mama!!! Floor is LAVA!!!!!” 2. Learning colors! I honestly think these are amazing and such a “Must Have!”
- Electric toothbrushes!!!!!!!!!! If your toddlers are anything like mine, they hate standing still long enough to brush their teeth… but these make it easier to brush their teeth. Plus, they love to pick their own. They are even better if you can get the tooth brushes with music.
- Rainbow Color Sorting Crayons – I used these when teaching the boys their colors and they were a huge success!
Mama Must Haves:
- Busy Bees Smocks – This is a PreOrder brand! Make sure you follow them on Facebook also!
- Hot Glue Gun! We are ALWAYS having some last minute DIY project for daycare or preschool.. so just go ahead and plan ahead. Get the hot glue gun! My personal fav
- Photo Albums! I document everything with these albums. They are perfect for a 4×6 and a short description to remember the moment! My favorite
- Stain Treater. This stuff gets EVERY SINGLE STAIN OUT OF OUR CLOTHES! Messy Eater Stain Treater
- A File Container for each child! Now, you can diy these. However, if you are like me and don’t have the patience or desire to make these, you can purchase them! Link is Here
- Comfy Shoes! I have arthritis in my feet and it is a MUST that I have stylish, but comfy shoes. These are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!! Corkys
- Refrigerator Magnets – These are small and perfect for your kiddo’s artwork! Just keep them out of the reach of young kids!!
- Erin Condren Planner – I BUY A NEW ONE EVERY SUMMER! These are pricey, but I absolutely love them. I am 100% a planner and these planners are my go to!
- Stitchfix – I pay $20 a month to have Stitchfix boxes shipped to my house. I really enjoy these because as a mom, I never really buy anything for myself. And while I don’t always purchase what they send me, it is still fun opening the box!
Toddler Summer Toy Must Haves:
- Large Octopus Sprinkler – MY KIDS LOVE THIS THING, plus it waters your grass 🙂
- A water slide! I know they can be expensive, but for families that don’t go many places during the summer, they are great! We do go to the beach and river, but honestly… we load it up and take it with us! We are actually in need of another one, so here is the link for the one I am looking at. Yes, it is pricey, but my kids are too young to confidently take to a water park. They also LOVE a waterslide.. so for us, it’s worth it. Link is Here
- Reusable Water Balloons – My kids love these and they are durable!
